Every once in a while, we need a breather from the hustle and bustle of school or work. What better way to recharge than by taking a peaceful walk surrounded by nature? Luckily, we have the Ninoy Aquino Parks and Wildlife Center (NAPWC), located in the heart of Quezon City. 

NAPWC is a 23.8-hectare national park that serves as a sanctuary for flora (all plant life in a particular area) and fauna (animals present in a specific region). It was originally part of the 197.8 hectares of the Quezon Memorial Park. The park offers a wide range of activities for visitors to enjoy, including boating, strolling, photography, picnic dates, educational tours, and fitness activities. 

The park opened to the public in 1970. It was initially named the Lungsod ng Kabataan Recreational Park and was later renamed the Ninoy Aquino Parks and Wildlife Center in honor of the late Senator Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino Jr. 

This national park plays an important role in the rescue and rehabilitation of wildlife and endangered animals, such as the Philippine eagle and the Philippine brown deer. Moreover, it contributes to biodiversity conservation and serves as a venue for the ex-situ conservation of endangered native and endemic tree species—meaning they are conserved under human care, rather than in their natural environment. 

The entrance fee is ₱30 for adults and ₱15 for children. Visitors may also rent various facilities for gatherings or events, with the following corresponding fees: 

* Fishing Village – ₱2,500 

* Tea House – ₱500, plus ₱100 electricity fee 

* Amphitheater – ₱1,350

* Picnic Shed – ₱500 

The park is located at Quezon Avenue corner Elliptical Road, Diliman, Quezon City. It is open daily from Monday to Sunday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
